Youth and Family Advocate

Tubman is seeking full time Youth and Family Advocates in our Minneapolis, Maplewood and Safe Journeys shelters to provide comprehensive advocacy services. Position shifts are 1 st (7am-3:30pm), Mid-Shift (10am-6:30pm or 12pm-8:30pm), and 2 nd Shift (3-11:30pm).

Responsibilities Promote safety and well-being of youth and their children through providing crisis and longer-term direct services; educational, creative, and recreational activities; and maintaining security. Minneapolis and Maplewood Shelters Promote safety of youth and families through administration of crisis support services, early intervention and prevention. Safe Journeys Youth Shelter and Housing Due to expansion, Tubman is seeking Full Time Youth Advocates to provide comprehensive services, primarily with youth and young adults in our shelter or housing programs. Part Time Advocate

Tubman is seeking Part time Advocates to join a dynamic and collaborative team to support the agency’s mission, vision and values. Positions will be based at our Maplewood Shelter, Safe Journeys Youth Shelter and at our Minneapolis Shelter. Positions available are morning, afternoon and evening and overnight shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or Mondays and are subject to change based on client needs.

Here’s your opportunity to strengthen our shelter residents wellness goals during your weekend shifts. Be a bridge between our residents and our full time team by offering additional support to resident and process goal progress week to week. Celebrate all of our residents small and large accomplishments during the week and help problem solve and encourage them as they break down barriers to their goals.

These newly created positions require the ability to create a welcoming and healing environment for crisis line callers, walk-in clients and shelter residents.

Provide exceptional wrap around services to all ages and genders. Facilitate healing and individual activities; opportunities include art room, computer lab just to name a few. Assist and welcome our onsite partners who come onsite to provide healing and fun activities on the weekends.

Welcome and engage volunteers, interns and volunteer groups. Foster positive and effective methods to strengthen teamwork and services to clients. Contribute to positive and exceptional teamwork outcomes.

Shelter Operations Coordinator

Tubman is seeking a full time Shelter Operations Coordinator to join a dynamic and collaborative team in our Maplewood and Minneapolis shelter locations. Weekly schedule is Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:30pm and may change based on resident and program needs. Coordinator will split time between both work locations.
Provide support to the needs of a diverse residential population. Promote healthy nutritional services, access to basic personal care items and a safe and clean living environment.
Core responsibilities include: provide support to maintain health, safety and operation standards, schedule and supports shelter facility upkeep and maintenance/repair requirements, works in partnership with Tubman Facilities Team, conduct and record all life safety drills and procedures, assure program equipment is in working order, oversee assignment and completion of daily house chores and cleaning assignments, prepare for annual licensing review and site tours, coordinate nutritional meals including resident dietary needs, liaison between Tubman and food service and supply resources, manage monthly purchasing and in-kind donations as well as our on-site Harriet’s Closet clothing resource. Works as a team with program volunteers, interns and staff. Supports data collection and required reporting to funders.

Full Time Follow Up Advocate - Minneapolis and Maplewood

Tubman is seeking four full-time Follow Up Advocates to join a dynamic and collaborative team to support the agency’s growing services. Two positions will be based at our Minneapolis shelter and two at our Maplewood shelter; all will perform work in greater metro communities. Work hours are primarily afternoon and evening shifts either Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday and are subject to change based on client needs.
These newly created positions require the ability to easily establish rapport with program participants, team members and community partners combined with a breadth of resource connections and keen problem solving abilities.
Provide supportive care to youth and families who are preparing to leave our shelters and outreach support in homes and community locations once they transition into community. Promote youth and family healing through creation of a safe, positive environment. Promote trusting relationships with clients, with adherence to professional boundaries. Provide coordinated case management support to clients between Tubman resources and community partners and service providers.
Positions provide direct advocacy services to all ages and genders living in our shelter and in community. Core responsibilities include: emotional support, crisis phone services, connecting residents to resources, through outreach calls and home visits. Supports data collection and required reporting to funders.

Contract Psychiatric Clinical Nurse

Responsibilites

Tubman is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Clinical Nurse for the agency’s Clinical Division. The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse provides psychiatric nursing services to individuals seeking medication evaluation, prescription services and monitoring.

This position performs supply inventory, house and office support tasks, data entry and direct advocacy services to women and children living in our shelter.
