Our legal services address a variety of domestic abuse and family law issues in Hennepin, Washington and suburban Ramsey counties.

Criminal Court Advocacy

The criminal court process begins when a victim is referred to Tubman. Referrals are most commonly made through the police or by people calling themselves. Legal advocates will also watch the court calendars looking for cases involving victims of domestic abuse. For assistance call:

Orders For Protection

Tubman legal advocates can write and file Orders For Protection in Washington and Hennepin counties, and can assist at Order For Protection hearings in Washington, Hennepin and suburban Ramsey counties.

 
Safety Project

The Pro Bono Safety Project provides quality pro bono legal representation to low-income victims of domestic violence seeking Orders for Protection (OFP) who have a compelling need for legal assistance. Legal advocates at domestic abuse agencies refer clients; Tubman screens clients and gathers case information; and volunteer attorneys represent clients in OFP hearings. Family Law Pro Bono Representation

Volunteer attorneys provide free legal representation to low-income individuals with family law cases in Hennepin, Washington or Ramsey counties.

Self-Represented Legal Clinics

Self-Represented Legal Clinics help low-income individuals represent themselves in family law cases. Volunteer attorneys will write court documents, provide legal advice and help you prepare for mediation, court conferences and evaluations, and court hearings. Volunteer attorneys do not make court appearances or provide ongoing representation.
