This summer has been different from normal for a lot of us, with social change and continued isolation among the many things we’re experiencing. We wanted to know how people are doing this summer, so we checked in with some of the graduates from our Movement for Violence Prevention youth leadership group. One of our youth leaders at shared with us what he’s been up to this summer:
During quarantine I realized this is a good opportunity to try something new and challenge myself. So I wanted to work out and improve how I handled my money but I realized why stop there. I began a project I call becoming the best version of myself. Becoming the best version of myself consists of money management, working out, grooming, skin care, changing my clothes and shoes, starting working and so much more. I’m doing this project for me and me alone so I can be satisfied with myself even more. It’s only been a week since I started but the workouts have been hard but my diet is pretty easy since I have a high carb diet. I think the first week is like going up the mountain and going to the peak. After that everything falls in place and the rest is smooth sailing.
