Legal Advocate Part-time 2021
This position is designed to ensure that agency clients, including victims of interpersonal violence, receive advocacy and support at criminal and civil court hearings, while also contributing to the legal services program outcomes and the mission of the agency. The Legal Advocate provides clients with information and support regarding the court processes, safety planning and provides legal professionals input regarding domestic assault cases either with the client or on the client’s behalf. This position will also assist in writing and filing orders for protection and providing resources and referrals.
Legal Advocates often assist in recruiting and mentoring volunteers and interns providing advocacy services. Most importantly, this position maintains professional partnerships with judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other legal/judicial court personnel.

Two + years of direct services in programs related to legal services.
Undergraduate degree, or relevant work/life experience in related field.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Own transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
Experience working with victims of interpersonal violence;
Experience working in a non-profit;
Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams;
Reports to Legal Manager
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary for the position is $18.50 per hours dependent upon experience.
