Shelter & Housing

Tubman is Minnesota’s largest provider of domestic violence shelter services. Clients can participate in support groups for domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and other forms of trauma, and work with our team to develop personalized safety and goal plans. Clients are connected to resources at Tubman and in the community that best support their goals, including legal and mental and chemical health support. Clients who have immediate medical needs are connected to medical resources in the community.

Tubman has a variety of shelter programs located at one of two Tubman locations.

  • Harriet Tubman Center West, located at 111 31st Street East Minneapolis, MN 55408, contains a shelter and houses a transitional apartment program.
  • Harriet Tubman Center East, located at 1725 Monastery Way Maplewood, MN 55109, contains a shelter and Tubman’s Safe Journeys Housing program.
